Brent
Baker is the News and Sports Director at QXFM. You can hear him weekday
mornings with Dave Cowley on "Good Morning Parker
County," as well as during football
season on "The EndZone" with
his co-host, Dave. Brent has been broadcasting for over a decade, gaining
experience at radio stations such as KRLD, KPLX and KJZY in Dallas; KDNT
and KNTU in Denton; KZEE in Weatherford and KYXS in Mineral Wells.
In 1996, Brent was honored for a one-of-a-kind basketball program, receiving
the statewide "Golden Hoops Award" from the Texas Association of Basketball
Coaches. He has also earned multiple awards from the National Council for Marketing
and Public Relations, competing against entries from a six-state area.
For four years, Brent produced "Soundcheck," a nationally-syndicated
Christian music feature. His love for Christian music also brought him ten years
as a musician in the prominent Dallas-area music scene, and he continues with
music ministry at Trinity Bible Church in Willow Park. He is a 1994 Radio/Television/Film
graduate of the University of North Texas, as well as a 2002 UNT master's degree
holder in the field of Journalism/Public Relations.
Brent is also dean of external affairs at Weatherford College, responsible for
marketing, alumni relations, fundraising, PR, and publications. He has worked
at WC since 1997. He serves his community as a board member and past president
of Christian Men's Fellowship of Parker County, as a member of Rotary Club of
Weatherford and with various other organizations and efforts. Brent and his wife
Elizabeth have three young children, and they reside in Weatherford.
